'Gay Road' Changed After Residents Complain

Residents on a street in Ohio disliked the name of their street quite a bit, so they convinced local officials to change it.

The name of Gay Road in Dayton, Ohio, has been changed to Green Apple Road, WLWT Eyewitness News 5 reported.

Families who live on the road said they are tired of the snide remarks about Gay Road. However, they insist that they are not making a statement about homosexuality, WLWT reported.

Gay rights activists disagreed with the residents, saying that they understand the sting of homophobia if they don't like living on Gay Road, WLWT reported.
